Traces considers the artist as a voyager breaking out of the confines of the studio to make work. Using the landscape as a canvas I traced parts of my journey along the 100 mile West Highland Way in Scotland.
Through exploring the theme of wanderlust, the work transpired a visualisation of walking alone (especially that of being a woman walking alone). Visual elements point to more sinister themes. Red markings likened to blood tracks, allude to the feeling of being hunted.
